HOWEVER.....
BEYOND THE
BORDER STILL UNDER THREAT!!!!!
You may have heard in the media that The Arts
Council of Wales (ACW) is proposing to cut the annual grant to St Donats Arts
Centre, home of Beyond The Border Wales International Storytelling Festival.
The Arts
Council of Wales is continuing to put St Donats' future in jeopardy even though
the Centre has won its appeal against the Arts Council’s decision to withdraw
funding by the end of July.
Despite an independent panel deciding that the Arts Council had made a
wrong decision to withdraw the Arts Centre’s grant, the Arts Council has not
reinstated the funding.
The Arts Centre is seeking urgent talks with senior officials of the Arts
Council of Wales with the aim of immediately reinstating the Arts Centre’s
grant.
Unless we can reverse the Arts Council of Wales’ decision, it
could result in the loss of both:
St Donats Arts Centre, a unique and beautifully situated
rural centre for the arts, serving people in the Vale of Glamorgan, the UK and
abroad,
and Beyond The Border, Wales’
International Storytelling Festival, the only one of its kind in Wales and the
largest in the UK.
You can help us save both this unique arts centre and
Wales’ International Storytelling Festival, including our education
and touring work throughout Wales, by:
