Catrin Finch and Seckou Keita

Artist - Catrin Finch and Seckou Keita

A THEATR MWLDAN PRODUCTION

We’re delighted to welcome Welsh harpist Catrin Finch and Senegalese kora maestro Seckou Keita to Beyond the Border.

Performing music from their triumphant second album, SOAR, which was inspired by the story of the magnificent osprey recently returned to Wales after centuries of absence. It makes a 3,000 mile migration from the coasts of West Africa to the estuaries of Wales, soaring on an epic journey. The album captures a magical meeting of minds and talents within a borderless musical landscape.

SOAR was nominated for ‘Album of the Year’ at the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards 2019, where Catrin and Seckou also won ‘Best Group/Duo’ and Seckou was named ‘Musician of The Year’.

“an emotional demonstration of how two virtuoso musicians triumphantly bring different cultures together” 5* THE GUARDIAN

“Hypnotic and ethereal, SOAR is a unique marriage of cultures” THE OBSERVER
