INTERNATIONAL CASGLU (GATHERING) sessions are online spaces for international artists and storytellers from Sub-Saharan African countries (South Africa, Ghana, Kenya) to meet Welsh storytellers, share work, articulate themes and creative agendas. It’s a space for inspiring ideas, debate and build relationships with each other and Beyond the Border festival.
Meetings are lively and informal spaces, where discussions start with provocations to everyone present, then move to smaller online breakout rooms for more detailed and private conversations to take place. A summary of these small discussions is then shared with the whole group at the end of the session.
These international meetings will run on the first Friday of each month, last for 60-90 minutes and include a combination of starting provocations by African storytellers, breakout meeting spaces for people to discuss relevant topics and whole group spaces where we hear about everyone’s conversations.
