Digital

At this difficult and uncertain time, we are finding ways of coming together and sharing stories. That’s why we want to know what we can do in the next few months to support storytellers and story-lovers alike, as we believe that stories are needed more than ever.

Beyond the Border was already developing plans to look at how we could improve digital skills in storytelling. We’ve seen over the past fortnight an exciting shift towards using digital platforms for telling stories. Therefore, to help us connect through isolation we want to see what we can do to help support, share, and develop this work.

Storytellers, we want to use our digital platforms to share and promote your work with new audiences across the world and to help develop your digital storytelling skills. So, if you’ve got a new storytelling circle happening on a digital platform, a new YouTube channel you’d like to promote, or you’re experimenting with storytelling in a different way while you stay home and stay safe, please let us know.

We also want to help storytellers who are new to working with digital platforms to feel confident with telling stories online. So, we’ll be setting up some online tutorials and groups to help. If you have a particular problem or something you’d like to learn, please drop us a line and we’ll see what we can do!

Audiences, every week we’ll be sharing a menu of digital delights with you, helping to promote the work of storytellers around the world and connect us all with the amazing work taking place. And if there’s any work that you’ve seen that you’d like us to share, please link us to it!
